Project DescriptION
In collaboration with MC&A, Inc. and Events International, ARCH produced CNC-milled stage blinds using extruded PVC and frosted white acrylic. The bold Art Deco design used in the free-standing stage blinds was then replicated into an endless pattern for the decorative bar facade motif. The work on this project was a cross-country ARCH endeavor from start to finish — the CNC milling was done in-house at ARCH NYC and installed by the ARCH Hawaii team for an event held in Maui.

Project Description
DMX Memorial Stage Set
ARCH engineered, built, and installed a custom stage for the DMX Memorial held on April 24, 2021 at Barclays Center, Brooklyn. This “mission impossible” was started and completed within 72 hours—from design drawing and engineering drafts, to material orders and pick-ups, team collaboration planning, welding, packing, transit, installation, and breakdown.
All surfaces of our custom welded trapezoid-shaped stage and its rigged mirror-image canopy were wrapped in stretched fabric for projection mapping on all sides. The memorial opened with video projection across both top and bottom surfaces of the staging in its stacked position. As choral voices began to echo through the space, the top canopy portion rose slowly to reveal a 60+ person choir + band. Video projection on each of the 8 surfaces of the stage construction, each 64’x20’, complemented the angelic voices on stage throughout the event.

GUCCI x MICKALENE THOMAS BOOK PARTY
Gucci x Mickalene Thomas Book Party
ARCH NYC partnered with MATTE Projects and Gucci to deliver this incredible event at Miami Art Week 2021 to celebrate the release of a new monograph by renowned 21st-century artist, Mickalene Thomas. Inspired by the 1970’s themes in Thomas’ work and the disco style of Gucci and Balenciaga’s Hacker Collection, MATTE and ARCH transformed the physical space above Gucci’s retail store at Paradise Plaza to bring Thomas’ visual world into play with three distinct areas united by mirrors, bold colors, and disco energy. Taking cues from the artist’s work, the venue at Paradise Plaza was transformed into a ’70s-style disco, with DJ Kitty Ca$h on the 1s and 2s.
According to VOGUE, “everyone was at the Gucci x Mickalene Thomas party” during Art Basel Miami.

Southwest Airlines Interactive Brand Activation
Working with concepts and designs by AMP, the ARCH team reverse engineered, fabricated and installed two Southwest Airlines photo walls and a donation “Promise Wall” for Waikiki’s Sunset & A Movie event on Queens Beach. To promote Southwest’s newly expanded coverage of Hawaiian destinations, ARCH Hawaii will produce monthly activations with these set elements through September 2019.
